INTRODUCTION

Automotive Mechanics course is aimed at producing Automotive Mechanics who are relevant to the industry and world of work. It is trainee-centered and practical-based. It emphasizes acquisition of skills by the trainees, through practical learning and execution of real life projects.

The course implemented at Ntinda VTI, produces automotive mechanics capable of the following:

  1. fabricate components and machine parts
  2. maintain engines to good working condition
  3. maintain the transmission and suspension systems of a vehicle
  4. install, repair and maintain the electrical/electronic systems in a vehicle
  5. prepare reports, budgets, and operation plans
  6. promote and ensure the safety of workers and plant
  7. initiate and manage small Business Enterprises
